Mani Desai, known as Mansari, with Parsi relative
was deeply impressed. Noticing that Kaikobad's leg was
injured, Baba examined it; he advised him to apply ash from the dhuni to the
wound and gave him some for this purpose. After staying overnight Kaikobad returned
to Navsari and from that time on he frequently visited Baba at Meherabad.
Kaikobad had brought Sohrab's young niece with him from Navsari,
Mani Beheram Desai, later nicknamed Mansari by Baba. This was also her
first meeting with the Master. From the time Mansari first laid eyes on Baba
at Meherabad, where she and Kaikobad had his darshan, she totally surrendered
to him. Thus in May 1927, two more circle members began to enter the inner life
with Meher Baba, and after some years both Kaikobad and Mansari became permanent
mandali at Meherabad.
Khorshedbanu Pastakia and Rusi Irani's sister, Pilamai,
were in close contact with Rusi regarding Meher Baba's activities though he lived
in Quetta and she lived in Karachi. On May 15th, Khorshed and Pilamai, along
with a few boys from Karachi, arrived at Meherabad to stay in the ashram.
Among these children were two of Baba's cousins, Homi and
Merwan, the sons of his maternal aunt, Banumasi. The boys had been living in
Karachi and were brought to Meherabad to study in the school. Thereafter, Banumasi
would come to Meherabad from time to time to see her sons.
In a meeting concerning the Meher Ashram school on May 17th,
